Sylvie Guillem is a ballet dancer, she was born in February 1965 in Paris, France. She was made Étoile with Paris Opéra Ballet by Rudolf Nureyev in 1984. Currently she is performing as a contemporary dancer as an Associate Artist of London's Sadler's Wells Theatre. some of her most notable performances include those in Giselle and in Rudolf Nureyev's stagings of Swan Lake and Don Quixote. She won the Varna Competition, Carpeaux Prize, Andersen Prize, and has been made a Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres and made Chevalier de Légion d’Honneur by François Mitterrand.
